Hi everyone,
I attended an Care Excellence Roadshow last week where myself and others from leading Health and Social Care training providers in the area looked at the criteria that we should be providing to our learners.
Not every one has to or will join in the scheme, it is not compulsory, but for those of us that do it means that we will officially be providing an excellent service and care training provision to the learners.
I am really excited by this as I know there are far too many Health and Social Care training providers out there giving a less than satisfactory service, in so many ways and I hear many horror stories out there on my travels as an NVQ assessor and trainer.
I hear about some trainer/assessors who spend half the training day talking about themselves, and I hear about others who come into the workplace and criticise.
It is not part of our job role to do either; we are there to support learning constructively and in a way that the learner finds the most beneficial to them. Not by just ticking all the boxes to get people through…
Of course I am not saying that ALL of the assessors and trainers are like that, there are also many good ones out there who I am sure will agree with me on this, that many just do not meet the standards required for quality training.
And so whilst this new Excellence award may not get rid of these substandard trainers/Assessors, it will give the care providers more of an insight as to who to go to and what they can expect from the training provision…
Anyway…Enough of my ranting for today!!!
Bye all.
